Introduction and Professional Experience
Jerry Wang, who is fluent in both English and Chinese, is a court-appointed receiver for the Superior Courts of the State of California. He has served in numerous jurisdictions throughout California, including the Counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Lake, Los Angeles, Marin, Orange, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Clara and Ventura. With more than twenty years of experience as a court-appointed receiver, Mr. Wang has served as the receiver in more than two hundred cases. The plaintiffs in these cases have ranged from individuals to community banks to Fortune 500 companies.
While Mr. Wang’s primary focus is rents, issues and profits, and equity receiverships, his experience includes both limited and general receiverships in a wide variety of actions. For instance, his recent experience includes a large medical practice receivership with significant insurance-related accounts receivable, workers’ compensation lien collection, bankruptcy, and HIPAA compliance-related elements. Receivership estate assets that Mr. Wang has protected, managed and, where authorized, liquidated have included all manner of income-producing real property (from small apartment communities to high-rise buildings); both small and large businesses; and a large variety of both tangible and intangible business assets. Regardless of the size or nature of the assets, Mr. Wang takes his fiduciary responsibilities extremely seriously and approaches each receivership appointment in a highly professional manner, but always with an eye to cost.
In addition to Mr. Wang’s significant experience as a court-appointed receiver, he has also enjoyed a long and distinguished career of more than three decades as a commercial and residential real estate asset manager, property manager and broker. He currently serves as an Executive Vice President of the Charles Dunn Company in Los Angeles, California, where he has been employed in positions of ever-increasing responsibility since 1995. Prior employers include the former Home Savings of America and Transamerica Corporation. His current responsibilities at the Charles Dunn Company fully compliment his responsibilities as a court-appointed receiver and he is able to call on the considerable resources of the Charles Dunn Company whenever appropriate. Mr. Wang also employs the services of his long-term associate Paul Wintermute, on an as needed basis. Mr. Wintermute is the former Vice President and Director of Real Property Asset Management at Transamerica Corporation, where he successfully managed a portfolio of institutional real estate assets worth over $1 billion.
