Richard Munro has over 30 years’ experience bringing effective problem solving and leadership to growth, distressed and underperforming businesses, and transforming mediocrity into peak performance, measured by outstanding growth in revenue and market share, profits, return on capital employed, and value to shareholders, lenders and creditors. He has held senior executive positions as a CEO, CFO, COO, and CRO, Court Appointed Receiver, Provisional Director, Court Expert and strategic consulting positions, and has served as a Director on public, private equity portfolio and private company boards for over 25 years.

Richard is recognized as being a corporate doctor (Business MD®) and very effective in identifying & solving problems that create business underperformance and financial distress, and quickly implementing practical solutions for profitable growth and recoveries for lenders, creditors and equity. He combines the unique experiences of a CEO and CFO and has extensive successful experience in growing the top and bottom line in companies with a strong focus on managing operations and increasing cashflow and enterprise value.

Richard specializes in appointment as a receiver in complex equity receiverships, in appointment as a provisional director in tied board situations, and as a financial advisor or chief restructuring officer in distressed situations, where his extensive business leadership experience including finance, operations, sales and marketing, business judgement and corporate governance experience, are all essential for maximum results. He has also successfully operated in Federal bankruptcy cases.

His experience spans various US and international companies including healthcare providers, direct to consumer and online sales, food manufacturing and distribution, precision engineering, consumer products, energy, general distribution, retail, professional services and not for profit organizations.

Richard has a Master of Business Administration degree in business strategy, a Bachelor’s in Accounting and Management Information Systems, is a licensed Chartered Accountant (CA), and holds a California Real Estate Broker License BRE: 01900072.\Richard is a Board Member and Officer of the Los Angeles/Orange County California Receivers Forum Chapter, is a member of the AICPA, is President Elect of the Pacific Southwest Chapter Board of the National Association of Corporate Directors, is Directorship Certified® by, and a Board Leadership Fellow of, the National Association of Corporate Directors, serves as an independent director on the board of a fast growth private equity portfolio company, and is a qualified audit committee financial expert per SEC rules.
