David Wald has more than 30 years of commercial real estate and related operating business experience, and founded Wald Realty Advisors in 1990. He has been an active receiver for more than 20 years. His experience encompasses assignments for over 200 firms, public agencies, high net worth families, and state and federal courts, including more than 70 lenders.

Mr. Wald’s experience includes office, retail, industrial, apartments, condominiums, tract housing, land subdivisions, self-storage and historic properties, schools, oil and gas fields, marina facilities and other specialty property. He is an acknowledged expert in the completion, operation and sale of distressed construction and development projects.

A few of his more notable receiverships include a 101 building, 1,800 unit apartment portfolio in East Palo Alto; a 12 building, 177 unit apartment portfolio in Long Beach and Riverside; a 785 acre housing subdivision in Riverside; a 350 acre housing subdivision in Chino; a 2,000 seat church in Los Angeles; a 908 unit self storage facility in Norco; and, high-rise office towers in Glendale, Burbank and downtown Los Angeles.

Mr. Wald holds California brokerage and general contractors licenses; is a member of the Board of Directors of the California Receiver’s Forum (LA/OC Chapter); and is a member of the Real Estate Investment Advisory Council Advisory Board and the Southern California Real Estate Association (SCREA).

Mr. Wald has taught programs for law firms on receivership and related workout and OREO issues as well as two California Bankers Association webinars on the completion and sale of residential subdivisions in receivership. He has been a faculty member at four California Receiver’s Forum Loyola Receivership Law and Practice Seminars as well as a speaker at the USC Crocker Symposium, the California Receiver’s Forum, Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and various other industry events.
